Interborough Express

In early 2022, Governor Kathy Hochul announced her support for a new passenger rail service connecting Brooklyn and Queens called the Interborough Express. The service would use the existing Bay Ridge Branch, which currently only handles freight trains. ETA believes that similar lines in other cities point to strategies that would deliver the Interborough Express project and still allow freight service to grow from its current level with less construction than is currently envisioned.
